Delete account and data
This is a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Norwegian version applies.
This page explains how to ask for your Vekterlogg account and the personal data linked to it to be deleted.
Vekterlogg is used by venues and security companies. Your account belongs to an organisation, and the organisation is the data controller for the information in its log. We (Vekterlogg) are the data processor and help you get your data deleted.
How to ask for deletion
Choose what suits you:
- In the app: open Menu → the cog (Settings) → My settings → “Ask for the account to be deleted”. The administrator in your organisation gets the request and deletes the account under Users in the customer portal (or in the Admin panel) → choose you → “Delete user”. This deletes your sign-in and your profile. If you are an administrator yourself, the button is called “Delete my user account”, and the account is deleted straight away – if you are the only administrator, give the admin role to someone else first.
- Contact us: send an email to kontakt@vekterlogg.no from the email address your account is registered with, with the subject “Delete account”. We confirm and carry out the deletion.
If you own an organisation and want the whole organisation with all data deleted, say so in the email, and we will delete the whole account.
Delete only part of the data (without deleting the account)
You can also ask for only some of your information to be deleted without closing the account – for example your phone number or individual entries. Send an email to kontakt@vekterlogg.no and describe what you want deleted, and we will do it as far as possible without deleting your account.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in account (email and password).
- Your profile: name, call sign, ID number and mobile number.
- Notification token and on/off duty status linked to you.
- Your profile photo, next of kin, address, documents and national ID number.
- The link to the shift calendar, the track from your shifts and the recordings you have sent on the radio.
- Follow-up after serious incidents that concern you.
What may be kept for a period
Some information may be kept for a limited time because the organisation (the data controller) needs it for documentation, or because the law requires it:
| Reports (final, use-of-force and incident reports) | Deleted automatically after 3 years. |
|---|---|
| Activity log (administrative actions) | Kept for up to 90 days. |
| Internal chat messages | Deleted automatically after a short time (7 days by default). |
| Recordings attached to a report | Kept as long as the report. |
| HSE deviations and safety inspections | Kept without your name, and deleted automatically after 3 years. |
| Whistleblowing reports | Kept without your name, and deleted 3 years after they are closed. |
| Hours and pay | The location from clocking in is removed. The hours are kept for 13 months, and the payroll basis that has been submitted for 5 years, as required by the accounting rules. |
| Aggregated usage statistics | Kept without any link to you as a person. |
Information that is not linked to you as a person (anonymised/aggregated statistics) is not considered personal data.
How long does it take
We carry out deletion without undue delay, and no later than 30 days after the request has been confirmed.
